Portal Hound for healthcare
Payer portal access for your offshore billing and credentialing team.
Portal Hound gives your authorized offshore team controlled, auditable access to the U.S. payer portals you approve, through a gateway your company owns. Every request is tied to a named worker and logged. Everything else stays on the worker's normal connection.
The problem
Offshore portal work needs control, not workarounds.
Billing, eligibility, prior authorization and credentialing all happen in U.S. payer portals. When that work is done offshore, you need to know who reached which portal and when, keep personal browsing out of it, and be able to cut access off at once. The usual tools don't give you that.
A full VPN is too much
It sends all of a worker's traffic through your company, including personal browsing. Slow, costly, and a liability you don't need.
Remote desktops are clunky
U.S.-hosted virtual desktops cost a lot per seat and make every portal session slower to work in.
Workarounds are risky
Shared logins and consumer VPNs leave you with no record of who reached what, and no clean way to cut access off.
How it works
One button for workers. Full control for you.
You approve the portals
Add a payer portal in the admin console. Portal Hound suggests the domains it needs, and nothing is reachable until you approve it.
Workers press Connect
They install a small app for Windows or Mac, sign in with their work email, and connect. There's nothing to configure.
Only approved portals go through
Those portals are reached through your company's U.S. gateway, and every request is logged. Email, banking and everything else use the worker's own connection.
Security
Designed so the gateway can't be misused.
Portal Hound isn't a VPN. The gateway can't route general traffic, and it never sees what's on the page.
Approved portals only
Every destination is blocked by default. Only the exact domains you approve can be reached through the gateway.
Never decrypted
Connections stay encrypted end to end between the worker's browser and the portal. The gateway doesn't read, store or cache page content.
One identity per worker
Each worker gets their own credentials, created on and tied to their own computer. Revoke one person instantly without affecting anyone else.
A record of every request
See which worker reached which site, and whether it was allowed. No page contents, form data or full web addresses are recorded.
One known, company-owned exit
All portal traffic leaves from a single U.S. address your company controls, so access is consistent, attributable and straightforward to describe to payers and auditors.
Dedicated to your company
Your own gateway, your own sign-in pool and your own access records, run for you on AWS in the U.S. and never shared with another customer. Enterprise plans can run it in your own AWS account.
For operations managers
See who's connected and what they reached.
- Add workers and approve each new computer before it can connect.
- Tell a worker who's simply offline apart from one whose access you've revoked.
- Reset a worker's access without anyone handling passwords or keys.
- Emergency lockdown turns off every worker's access at once, and restores it when you're ready.
Approved portals
Finding domains never approves them.
- Paste a portal's address and Portal Hound suggests the domains it needs, with a reason for each.
- Nothing is reachable until you select it and approve it.
- Workers see new portals in their app within seconds.
Access logs
Routine blocks, labelled as routine.
- Filter by worker, result, period and destination.
- Times shown in your local time zone, clearly labelled.
- A blocked request is shown as a policy block, not a security incident.
Who it's for
Teams authorized to work in U.S. payer portals from abroad.
Requirements
Portal Hound is for teams already allowed to work offshore.
Portal Hound controls and records how your team reaches portals. It doesn't change who is allowed to use them, or where from. Before you start:
Your agreements must permit offshore access
Check your payer agreements, each portal's terms of use, and any Medicaid, Medicaid managed care or Medicare Advantage contract terms. Some prohibit offshore access to member information, or require it to be disclosed and approved first. Portal Hound is not a way around a payer's location rules.
Every worker uses their own portal login
Workers sign in to each portal with credentials issued to them, under that portal's terms. Portal Hound never shares, stores or fills in portal passwords.
HIPAA stays your responsibility
We sign a Business Associate Agreement with you, and our hosting on AWS is covered by AWS's BAA. You still need your own safeguards, policies and workforce training. Portal Hound helps with access control and audit records; it doesn't make you compliant on its own.
Workers should know access is logged
The access log records which worker reached which site and when. Tell your team, and follow the privacy and employment rules where they work.
Portal Hound doesn't guarantee access to any portal. Payers decide who may use their systems.
See Portal Hound with your own portals.
We'll show you the worker app and admin console, and talk through setting up a gateway for your team.
