Portal Hound

Portal Hound for prior authorization

Payer portals for your offshore prior-auth team, under named users, with a BAA.

Authorizations are time-boxed and portal-bound. Portal Hound gives your offshore PA team named access to the payer portals and PA platforms you approve, from one company-owned U.S. address, with a log and a Business Associate Agreement.

The problem

A locked portal is a missed authorization window.

Payer portals and PA platforms challenge overseas logins, and a team working under shared logins has no record of who submitted which authorization. When a denial is appealed, you need to know who did the original work.

Lockouts cost authorizations

A locked payer login during a 72-hour window is a delayed procedure and an unhappy practice.

Appeals need a name

When an authorization is denied and appealed, the record of who submitted what, and when, matters.

PHI on every screen

Every authorization is PHI. Access needs a named person and a log.

How it works

One button for workers. Full control for you.

You approve the portals

Add each platform your team works in. Portal Hound suggests the domains it needs, and nothing is reachable until you approve it.

Workers press Connect

They install a small app for Windows or Mac, sign in with their work email, and connect. There's nothing to configure.

Only approved portals go through

Those platforms are reached through your company's U.S. gateway, tied to that person and logged. Email, banking and everything else use the worker's own connection.

Platforms

The portals these teams approve first.

Any web platform can be approved. These are typical for prior authorization teams.

What you get

Named users, one address, an access log, and a BAA.

  • Every PA specialist has their own portal user; Portal Hound never shares a login.
  • All payer-portal logins come from your one U.S. address, so challenges stop repeating.
  • Access logs tie each authorization session to a person, which supports appeals and HIPAA access control.
  • We sign a Business Associate Agreement with you.

Requirements

Portal Hound is for teams already allowed to work offshore.

It controls and records how your team reaches portals. It doesn't change who is allowed to use them, or where from.

Your agreements must permit offshore access

Payer agreements, Medicaid managed-care contracts and Medicare Advantage rules may prohibit offshore access to member data or require disclosure and approval. Check each payer and your client agreements before routing it. Portal Hound is not a way around a payer's location rules.

Every person uses their own login

Your team members sign in to each platform with accounts issued to them, in the role they need. Portal Hound never shares, stores or fills in a login, and it isn't for working as somebody else.

Regulated data stays your responsibility

Authorization records are PHI under HIPAA. Portal Hound signs a BAA and provides access control and an audit record; your own safeguards and training still apply.

Tell your team access is logged

The access log records which person reached which platform and when. Tell them, and follow the privacy and employment rules where they work.

Portal Hound doesn't guarantee access to any portal. The companies that run them decide who may use their systems. Full requirements.

Questions from prior authorization teams

Does it integrate with our PA software?

It doesn't need to. Any web platform can be approved as a portal, including PA trackers, and your team keeps working in them as before.

Can clinical reviewers abroad use it?

If your agreements and the payer's rules permit clinical review offshore, yes, under their own users. Portal Hound doesn't change those rules.

What does the log show for an authorization?

Which person reached which payer portal and when. It never records page contents, so no PHI is in the log itself.
